Optic Nerve Regeneration

I get google news updates about blindness and technology.  Every once and a while I will NERVOUSLY search google news for articles about regenerating nerve cells.  Boy was I  surprised today!

I read an article about a study in which some vision had been returned to mice with optic nerve damage.  This is the blindness that afflicts me (nerve damage&) so I was ecstatic to read the following article.  apparently 4 million others have the same problem as me.  who WOULDA thunk it?
