Do you use your Google Drive?

If not, lets get you started!

If you have a google account, you can get free access to 5 GB of storage on your google drive.  It is sort of like an external hard drive stored in the "cloud."

To access this application, just visit your google.com homepage.  On the links across the top (i.e. home, maps, images, etc) just click the link that says "drive."  It takes only moments to set up.

Once it is set up, a icon will appear on your desk top called "google drive."  Now you can copy files to the drive, and you will have access to them at any computer in the world!  Pretty cool stuff.

But what I find even cooler is there is a free smartphone application named google drive.  This will allow you to access the same documents from your iphone/android.  This may not seem that revolutionary, but it can be used in a plethora different ways.  Aside from backing up your important files, you can access certain files everywhere you go.  For example, I use google drive to store a "recipe" collection folder.  Then from my smart phone I can access the ingredient list while I'm at the grocery store.  The possibilities are plentiful.
