The Bronx Alehouse in the Wall Street Journal?

It's true.  The Alehouse is not only changing the way we eat, and drink beer, but it seems it is now changing the whole borough for the better.  Can't wait to see the steak house moving in next door.

Blind athlete to kayak colorado river rapids

Anyone who can use the word "gnar" in a New York Times interview has got to be a little nuts.  This guy is a mix between an inspiration and a californian X games champ.

"Necessity is the mother of all invention"

The quote, by Plato, is still as relevant and true as ever. Here is a perfect example of that:
4 african teenage girls have created a generator that runs on urine. It can turn 1 liter of urine into 6 hours of electricity.  ARTICLE

We should hire these teens to look into making alternative energy more economically viable.  There are many new tax incentives/rebates/deductions given to encourage people to install things like photovoltaic cells to provide solar power. These would provide reusable energy, without harming Earth.

It is clear from the weather lately that changes need to be made. Mother Earth is not happy about our "clean" coal, hydro-fracking for natural gas, and oil rigs spewing filth into the Gulf of Mexico. Hopefully everyone will realize that renewable energy is no longer a choice going forward...it is a necessity.

The politics of stem cells

Do you know someone who suffers from diabetes?  Blindness?  A spinal chord injury?  Most people have either been afflicted by one of these disabilities or know someone who has.  If you think research to advance treatments using embryonic stem cells is important, GO OUT AND VOTE FOR OBAMA.  Mitt Romney will NOT support funding for embryonic stem cell research.

Solar in New York

If you are a homeowner in New York, you should look into solar power.  With tax rebates and incentives, it is much more viable than it has been in the past.  Also, Sandy has made most New Yorkers stop and think a little more about the environment.
