Postcard to the Past

My friend Paula sent me a postcard that she found in her special possessions.  It was a post card that my mother sent her from our trip to Sanibel Island, Florida in 2009..  As my mother's body was waning from cancer, her unbreakable spirit and renewed energy allowed us one more memorable trip to that beautiful, serene island.

Postcard text:

"March 1st, 2009
Dear Paula,

We got here in one piece.  I was tired at times, but it was like resting in paradise.  Wind through the pines and palms, surf, sand, and shells...and my loving boys!  I guess we will get a cold welcome at home, but I got here by the grace of god.
